Engineering Manager

Why Jumbo?

We’re an innovative technology company that has achieved remarkable growth over the past 25 years, from humble beginnings with a single computer to a thriving global technology business. We work with over 13,000 causes globally and have helped raise over $250 million last FY.

Here, innovation isn't a buzzword—it's our way of life. We thrive on pushing boundaries as we seek ways to improve business operations, performance and efficiencies. Every voice matters, and every idea has the potential to be impactful.

About the opportunity:

The Engineering Manager aims to do what is needed to ensure the team's success. They are responsible for supporting and promoting a culture of continual improvement, accountability and resilience. Acting as the intersection between engineering and product managers, you ensure that technical and product deliverables are achieved with a team-first approach.

You will work closely with a Product Manager to provide your team with clear goals and responsibilities and quickly identify and solve any delivery blockers.

While there is less emphasis on 'hands-on' coding responsibilities, the Engineering Manager will still engage in technical deliverables, architectural decisions and solution shaping.

The Engineering Manager is comfortable managing team members with different skill sets from their own and can identify the best ways these can complement each other to build a high-performing team. They communicate expectations clearly to all team members and frequently solicit and deliver individual feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset amongst the team
  • Challenge the team to identify bottlenecks & ways of speeding up delivery
