Who are we looking for?

We are on the lookout for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to be based from our Galgate (Lancaster) office. Joining a supportive, high-performance culture, ideally you will:

• Be able to demonstrate strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Have prior experience in IT systems administration.
• Have resourcefulness to research solutions and complete complex tasks thoroughly.
• Ability to take initiative, manage own projects and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.

What will you be doing?

As the IT Systems Administrator, you will:

• Oversee and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Manage and configure Windows servers (preferably 2019+), including Hyper-V, WSUS, Active Directory, domain controllers, backups, and RAID configurations.
• Assemble and configure server hardware.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organisation to ensure IT systems align with business needs.
• Take initiative to research and compare solutions for various technical tasks, ensuring thorough and resourceful completion.
• Design and deliver IT infrastructure projects, contributing to the overall strategic goals of the company.

Technical spectrum you will be experienced with:

Programming - Shell, Perl, PHP, Python
Networking - Routing, Firewalls, VLAN
Network services - DHCP, DNS, VPN, SSL, SonicWall, IPS

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• IT or relevant subject degree
• Experience with Linux servers (Ubuntu, Tripwire)
• Veeam
• SQL (Server, Reporting Server)
• PowerBI Report Server

Salary: £30,000-35,000 per annum.

This position is full-time on site in our Galgate office.
